Allow anonymous access

BSCW makes it easy for you to publish objects on the World-Wide Web. Private folders, shared workspaces, wiki, discussion forums, calendars, blogs, contact lists and other objects may be published by allowing anonymous access from the Internet. By default, this action is available only to the managers of the objects in question. Also note that your system administrator may have disabled this action completely for security reasons.

Select  Public Access in the context menu of the object you want to publish, check 'Make Public' and click [OK].

For some object types, in addition to the default read permission, you can allow other actions on the folder that involve adding objects of a particular type.

In this case, you can also set whether public access should be moderated. In this case, the objects created anonymously via the Internet are not visible during anonymous access until they are explicitly released for anonymous access by a member of the folder by  releasing them.

By publishing an object, the fictitious user becomes an anonymous member of the object, which is indicated by the icon  behind the object name in the navigation bar.

You may revoke public access at any time by either

Select  Public access in the context menu of the published object, deselect the 'Make public' checkbox and click [OK], or

remove the user anonymous from the member list of the published object.
