With the exception of the original contacts (icon), you can change the contacts of your address book at any time by
• You select in the context menu of a contact.
When editing a user contact, i.e. a contact assigned to a user, there are the following peculiarities:
• Under the fields of the 'Change contact' action form, in case of discrepancies, those entries are displayed in green that the user himself has made in his personal profile for the corresponding field. His/her username is added in brackets.
• Select the [Match with original] button to apply the values of the assigned user for one or more fields.
• Select [Edit] to continue with the usual editing of the contact.
• If you want to turn the user contact into an original contact in order to have the user data currently available in the contact at all times, select [Replace with original].
Note: Even if you have transferred user data to a contact with [Match with original], as described above, these fields are not automatically matched when changes are made by the user himself, as is the case with original contacts.
You can't really change an original contact, because you would be changing the user's personal profile. However, you can copy an original contact into an ordinary user contact and then edit it.
• Select in the context menu of an original contact.
• In the 'Change contact (copy)' action form, you will be informed that you are creating a copy of the original contact and thus losing the automatic tracking of the contact's attributes.
• Select [Cancel] to keep the original contact or edit the copy and replace the original contact with [OK].
However, you can change your own original user contact, which you have created e.g. via [Select user] in your address book, with . This has the same effect as if you would edit the 'Personal Data' tabs of your personal profile with
Entries in your address book can only be removed manually; BSCW does not automatically delete entries that have been created automatically either.
• Highlight the entries you want to remove on your Address Book page and select in multi-select toolbar. This will move the selected contacts to your trash.
When you delete your own original contact in the Trash, you also remove it from other address books and contact lists. In this case, you will receive a corresponding warning message. Otherwise, deleting contacts has no effect on other address books or the membership status of those users whose entries have been deleted.
