End work session

To end your work session with BSCW

Select  Logout top menu of the main menu.

Before the final logout, any private data stored by BSCW in your browser will be deleted. These are e.g. backup copies of the integrated HTML editor or locally cached chat messages . Afterwards, you will be shown the publicly accessible welcome page of your BSCW server.

Note: If an error occurs when deleting the private data, you will receive a message to that effect and will have to delete the private data manually. For Windows browsers, use the Ctrl-Shift-Del key combination to bring up a dialog for deleting the browsing history or browser history, select the 'Website Data' option (for Firefox, select the 'Cookies' option) and delete this data. For Safari, choose Safari > Reset Safari, check the 'Remove all website data' option, and then click [Reset].

Some browsers require you to authenticate again before logging out. In this case you have to authenticate with a blank password to actually close the work session. Canceling authentication does not close your work session with BSCW.

For some Web browsers explicit logout cannot be offered. In this case you have to terminate the work session with BSCW by closing or exiting the Web browser on your local computer. Until you log out or close the browser, the access rights granted to you under your username apply.

Attention: If other people are also using your local computer (e.g. in a public Internet café), you should definitely terminate your BSCW work session as soon as you have finished your work with BSCW.
