BSCW distinguishes five event types which are represented in the folder overview by specific event icons for one object each.
New
object: This is a newly created object (document, folder, note, etc.) that
you have not seen before. The event may have been created by yourself or by
another member of the workspace.
Changed object: The object has been changed. This can refer to the
content or description of the object, for example. Adding document versions and
modifying meta information also falls under this type.
Moved object: The
object has been moved from one place to another, for example by cutting,
pasting, removing and putting back, archiving, extracting and converting already
existing objects.
Events inside:
There are change events for objects contained in this folder. This also
applies to objects contained in any subfolders. This icon is displayed only for
folders. Events of this type are displayed only as an event icon and are not
conveyed by the other event services
Read object: The
object has been accessed without modification, e.g. it has been read, downloaded
or copied. If a user has performed several of these actions, BSCW will display
only the most recent event for that user. As far as event symbols are concerned,
read events are propagated to parent folders and are also listed under their
event symbols.
