The search criteria can refer to object attributes such as name, description, tags or object type and, in the case of documents, also to the entire content. Different search criteria can be logically linked. The search range may be the current folder or workspace, all your workspaces including your personal workspace ('home folder') or the entire BSCW system. The latter also includes your clipboard, your trash and your calendar.

Regardless of how you started your search, the results of the search are displayed in a temporary search folder. The description of each found object contains the folder where it is located.
