Lock documents

You can lock a document for other users for a certain time to avoid conflicts during concurrent editing by multiple authors. A locked document may only be read by other users, but not modified or replaced. It is also not possible to create a new version.

Select   Write Protect in the context menu of the document and specify a lock note. Confirm with [OK].

As the owner of the lock, you can change the lock note at any time without removing the lock. To do this, click on the icon iSperre'Share' column of the document entry in the folder overview. You can also take this opportunity to unlock the document for editing again by clicking on [Unlock]. Instead of clicking on the icon, you can also call up this action in the context menu by selecting  Show Lock.

If you absolutely want to change a document that has been locked by another user, you can apply the lock, provided you have the necessary access rights.

Click on the icon Sperre in the 'Share' column of the document entry in the folder overview, enter your own lock note and confirm with [Apply lock].

You have now locked the document for other users and can change it yourself. The previous owner of the lock will be informed about this process by email. If you do not have the necessary access rights to apply the lock, only the lock note is displayed. Accepting (or displaying) the lock can also be invoked by accessing   Show Lock in the context menu of the locked document.

If you lock a document of which you are not the owner, you become the co-owner of the document.
