Modify and share metadata profiles

You can also change the metadata profiles you have defined again. Changing a metadata profile defined by another user is possible only for the manager of the template folder where the profile is located.

You can change metadata profiles in two ways. Once, you can explicitly change a metadata profile in your personal templates or in any template folder,

•      by selecting  Change Properties in the context menu of this metadata profile.

The interaction for changing metadata profiles in the 'Change metadata profile' action form is the same as for defining a new metadata profile, which also consists of changing the corresponding system profile.

•      Finally, click [OK] to save the modified metadata profile, which now applies to all objects with this profile.

If, when modifying a metadata profile, you delete an attribute that is already assigned a value for some objects, this attribute will appear with its value at the end after the other attributes of the profile. If such deleted attributes are no longer provided with a value, they disappear completely.

If you delete a metadata profile, it still remains as long as there are objects with that metadata profile.

You can invite other users to a profile to enable the sharing of metadata profiles beyond workspaces. The profile then appears at the top level for the members of this profile in the respective personal folder "Personal templates" and can be used from then on when assigning profiles.
