BSCW creates and maintains a set of descriptive information for each object (folder, document, user, group, etc.). Some information may be edited by users with appropriate access rights, others are protected from manual modification and are updated automatically by BSCW. Some information (e.g. name and type of an object or the name of its owner) is displayed in the Web-based user interface of BSCW depending on the context. On the object's info page all information about an object is presented in a bundled way.
• Select in the context menu to get the info page of the object
The info page provides some technical information about the object, shows tags and attributes with values assigned to the object, and lists the current access rights, i.e. which users in which roles are allowed which actions on the object. The rest of the info page content depends on the object type. Examples are:
• Document under version control: For a document under version control, the info page additionally shows the version history as a table. Click the version number in the left column to download the desired version to your local system.
• Contact: The info page displays all the information describing a contact. They correspond to the information that a user can provide in the personal profile under 'Personal data'.
• User: A user's info page contains, in addition to the username and email address, all the information that has been provided in the user's personal profile, such as their phone number or a picture. It also contains contact information on how to reach a user via social networks or instant messaging services if such information has been provided in the personal profile. You can also view the workspaces that you personally share with the respective user.
