Setting the default filter for event notification

Choose  Options    Default Event Filter  from the top menu bar. In the top row of the form ‘Set Default Event Filter’ you may check those event notification services that you want to activate. For each service, you may select specific event types, which are of interest to you in general. In particular, you may choose from the following event types:

Read events are generated when an object is read, copied, or downloaded.

Create events are generated when new documents, links, folders or messages are created.

Move events are generated when a document, folder, etc. is cut, pasted, deleted, undeleted, archived, extracted or converted.

Change events are generated when an object is somehow modified, e.g. renamed or edited. Adding new versions to a document and modification of metadata belong to this event category.

You may also de-activate (or re-activate) each of the event notification services by checking the top row boxes. This will switch the entire service off or on. Thus, you have a central location to disable a specific service if you, e.g., don’t want to be annoyed by email notification any more. The default settings do not affect the configuration of the event notification for individual objects, i.e. configurations for specific objects overrule the default settings.

Please note that some services may be disabled for your BSCW server. Consequently, these services are not offered for default configuration.

Note: Enabling the direct email notification service on a container object (folder, discussion etc.) may result in numerous email messages, which are generated and delivered to your primary email address.
