Subscribing to event notification

BSCW allows you to specify in detail how you want to be informed about events in your workspaces. For the general case, a default event notification filter is set that specifies about which categories of events you are to be notified via the different event notification services. This default filter may be overridden on a per object basis.

Depending on your BSCW installation, several event notification services are available that may be configured individually.

Event icons indicate recent events on the user interface level.

The daily workspace activity report is sent per email and contains events that happened in your workspaces the previous day.

Direct email notification notifies you immediately about relevant events.

JMonitor supports online event notification by means of a separate Java applet.

Note that BSCW RSS event news feeds are not configured using an event filter; they contain all categories of events of a certain workspace that an authenticated user has access to, but are limited to events that happened in the most recent past.
