The personal address book supports the management of contact data of arbitrary persons, i.e. both users of your BSCW server and persons who do not belong to the circle of users. The contact data of a person are stored in a contact object. To increase clarity, the contacts of the address book may be grouped in contact lists. The entries of your address book are available when inviting new members to workspaces, participants to a meeting or a scheduling.
Contact lists are special folders that contain only contacts. Contact lists can also be created in any workspaces in order to be able to create contact data also in the context of a workspace and make them available to the members of the workspace. However, such contacts must first be copied to the personal address book before they can be used for invitations to workspaces.
The email addresses and cell phone numbers stored in contacts may be used- to send messages or BSCW objects to contacts if your BSCW server is configured appropriately.
