Editing a document stored in BSCW normally requires downloading the document, editing it on the local computer and then uploading the edited document. Under certain conditions, however, documents may also be edited directly on the BSCW server from the Web-based user interface:
•Text and HTML documents through editors integrated into the web browser;
•MS Office files by using WebDAV (only possible if you use Internet Explorer on Windows).
•any documents by connecting a local helper application that allows direct editing with external editors.
In addition, you may create text and HTML documents directly on the BSCW server.
