You start a work session on a BSCW server where you are registered as user by entering
•call the URL http://Ihr-BSCW-Server/sec/bscw.cgi/ or
•access an object in one of your folders or workspaces directly via its URL, e.g. via a bookmark.
Note: The address of your BSCW server is http://Ihr-BSCW-Server/sec/bscw.cgi/ by default on newer installations but may be set differently by your administrator.
To log in, enter your username and password. Instead of your username you may also log in with your email address. Your BSCW server may offer other ways of logging in (see 3.2.5 Other methods of authentication).
After checking the submitted data, BSCW will by default show you your personal home page or the object in a workspace whose URL you have entered directly. If e.g. someone sends you the URL of a folder, you will see the corresponding folder overview immediately after logging in (provided you have the necessary access rights).
If you do not work with BSCW for a longer period of time, your BSCW session will end automatically, and you will be asked to log in again.
