The recycle bin contains all the objects that you have removed from your folders. You can find the recycle bin in the navigation tree on the left side.
Two actions for objects in the recycle bin are additionally offered in the multi-selection toolbar (and in context menus of object entries):
Put back - puts the selected objects back into the folders from which they were removed, if these folders still exist. Otherwise, you can simply cut the objects and paste them back in a suitable place.
Delete - removes the selected objects from your Recycle Bin. This causes you to lose access to these objects via the deleted entries (you can still have access to these objects via other entries). If you delete a workspace of which you are the sole owner and where you completely lose access by deleting it, the workspace will also be inaccessible to any other members. In this case, you will be notified of this fact before the workspace is actually deleted. If you delete a shared workspace that you do not own or that has other owners, this only terminates your membership in that workspace; the workspace itself remains for the other members.
Special rules for deleting versions apply to documents under version control (see 8.3.5).
This question becomes important if disk space monitoring is enabled for your BSCW server ('quota system') because all objects that you own are attributed to your disk space share. This may eventually lead to exceeding the disk space allotted to you and the related problems. Removing and deleting objects may result in changes to the ownership of those objects.
When you remove an object, i.e. move it to your Trash, the same ownership and membership rules apply as when you cut the object, i.e. move it to your clipboard. This means for the standard cases of a document you created in a folder you do not own and a workspace you have been invited to, that you become the owner of the removed document in your Trash and that any other members of the folder lose access to the document, while removing the workspace leaves ownership and membership unchanged.
Deleting items from your trash takes away ownership if you are the owner at all and do not still have access to the deleted items via other entries.
