Discussion
A discussion is a folder that may only contain notes. The basic idea of discussions and notes is taken from the popular Usenet news. A discussion corresponds to a newsgroup; the network of notes replying to earlier notes corresponds to a thread of articles posted. One major difference is that BSCW lets you control who may read a discussion or may reply to a note. This is done by turning the discussion into a shared workspace of its own and by setting differentiated access rights.
In order to view the contributions to a discussion,

or click the discussion icon or the name of the discussion to display the
list of notes.
You may also use discussions in order to annotate documents and URL objects.
