The public area represents that part of a BSCW server that
is accessible to everyone via the World-Wide Web without being registered as a
user on the BSCW server. Folders, discussion forums and other objects may be
made publicly accessible via

in the context menu of the object. By default, this action is only allowed for
managers. Access rights for anonymous users are set when an object is published.
By default, anonymous access is limited to read-only.
Note: For security reasons, the BSCW administrator may remove the public area of your BSCW server. In this case no objects may be made publicly accessible.
The public area is realized as a community workspace named 'public'. Its community is the group of anonymous users, i.e. all users who access the public part of a BSCW server anony-mously. (Communities in general are described in 11 Communities). The folder 'public' is included in the list of community workspaces of each registered user of your BSCW server.
