Import and export contacts

Contacts of a contact list can be imported in vCard format from local applications like Microsoft Outlook.

Contacts are automatically created from vCard file (*.vcf) in contact lists. To do this, upload vCard files from your local computer via DragNDrop or via the Upload button in the desired contact list to import them.

Alternatively, you can upload one or more vCard files to a contact list using drag-and-drop.

Contacts and contact lists can of course be re-exported in vCard format.

To export a single contact as a vCard file, select  Send to vCard in a contact's context menu and save the file to your local computer.

Multiple contacts can be exported to a vCard file at once by selecting the contacts to be exported by clicking their checkboxes and then pressing the  Send to vCard context menu on a selected entry.

Exporting contact information contained in user entries of your address book or any member pages is possible in vCard format with the same actions.

Note: Importing Microsoft Outlook contacts is not straightforward; they must first be saved in Outlook as a vCard file (*.vcf).

If you are using Windows on your local computer, you may synchronize your BSCW contact lists with local contacts in MS Outlook. For details see 13.6.

Contacts and contact lists can also be copied to your address book. Contacts and contact lists from your address book can be used when inviting new members to workspaces.

Select in the context menu  Link address book to copy single or multiple contacts to your address break.
