By inviting mem-bers to a shared workspace, you increase the group of people who are allowed to access the workspace and the objects in it. Before you invite someone and turn a personal folder into a shared workspace, see 5.1; section 5.2 Access rights and roles explains how to change members' access rights.
in the context menu turns a personal folder, a workspace or a discussion forum into a public workspace (by default only allowed for managers). However, this option may be disabled by your BSCW administrator for security reasons.
Define which actions on this object should be freely accessible. This way you have extended control over possible accesses. By default, only read access rights are granted. All objects on your BSCW server that have been made publicly accessible in this way are listed in the public area of the server.
If you plan to invite a large number of users to a workspace, consider adding a community to the workspace. Communities can accommodate a large number of members and provide access to the community workspace without increasing the load on the server.
