Actions on a single object can be displayed by selecting the corresponding entry in the context menuby clicking the right mouse button somewhere in the object entry (pressing the Ctrl key together with a right mouse click at the same time usually opens the original browser menu, e.g. for "Save target as").
If you position the cursor over the context menu icon, an additional horizontal context menu with icons for frequently used actions is offered (e.g. Edit, Change Properties, Attach Note. Cut, Move, Copy, Remove for documents).
Some of the entries in the context menu are intended for a specific type of objects. For example, the offered actions differ for folders and for documents.
BSCW will only show you actions that you are allowed to use from the access rights to a given object.
We list below most of the actions offered in the context menus.
In addition, there are a number of actions in the context menu that are specific to certain object types and are dealt with there.
lets you change all properties of the current object. This includes all the settings you made when creating the object. This includes name, description, tags, rating and attributes, for folders and documents for the managers still the automatic versioning and the document release.
version control. Additional information includes a description of the base version, an initial version number, and the state. For a document under version control, the Modify menu offers other actions such as , etc., all of which are discussed in detail in 8.3 Documents under version control
places a document underconcerning the current object.
lets you specify in detail in which form you want to be notified about which events lets you specify one or more times when you want to receive an email message reminding you aboutshows you the complete contents of a folder as an indented list that lists not only the objects contained directly in the folder, but also the objects of subfolders, sub-subfolders, and so on. The contents of discussion forums, calendars and other container objects are also displayed here.

shows you theshows you all change events that have occurred since this object was created.

lets you edit text and HTML documents, e.g. notes,loads a document from your local computer system into your workspace and places it in the place of the current document. The replaced document is overwritten and is no longer available.
makes the folder or discussion forum a public area. You can specify which actions should be allowed to the public (adding documents, folders, discussion forums, notes, URLs). By default, only read permission is granted here for security reasons.
uploading documents via email.
the workspace forlocks a document to protect it from accidental modification or deletion. Specify the reason for the lock. This text is displayed when the iconin the 'Share' column is clicked. You can use this opportunity to unlock the document; other members of the workspace can also 'take over' the lock.
tprotects a document from changes by other members of a workspace. Frozen documents can only be read by others. By default, freezing is available only for creators and managers.
This menu summarizes all actions that transform the current object into another format or export it in another way. The possible actions depend on the type of object. Examples are archiving folders, converting documents or preparing them for printing folder overviews or contact lists in PDF format
This submenu summarizes all the actions that create a reference to the current object and place it in another object. Using references, you can have entries in different places of your folder hierarchy that all refer to the same object without having to copy the object. Deleting a reference does not delete the object as long as there are other references, i.e. entries in any folder that refer to the object.
creates a reference to the current object in yourcopies the Internet address of the current object to your computer's clipboard if you have the Adobe Systems Flash plug-in installed in your browser.
moves the object to your clipboard.
puts a copy of the object on yourNote: Copying a folder means that you recursively copy all objects, subfolders, etc. contained in it. In some cases, referencing to the clipboard or cutting serves the same purpose and saves a lot of disk space.
